Bobby Keys and The Suffering Bastards

bobby keys carolina mixerHave you ever listened to a song like Dion's "The Wanderer" and said "that sax player ROCKS!"? Or maybe rode down the highway with the stereo blasting "Brown Sugar" by the Rolling Stones. Maybe it was John Lennon, Joe Cocker, Sheryl Crow, or BB King with an incredible sax solo driving you to put your foot on the gas just a little bit more.

If so, there is a good chance that you were listening to the talented Bobby Keys. Bobby has played on hundreds of songs since he began touring at the age of 14 with Buddy Holly. He is probably best known as the sax player for The Rolling Stones, and as Keith Richards' best friend.

Carolina Mixer caught Bobby Keys performing with his band, "The Suffering Bastards", on the Rock Legends Cruise II. The band itself is made up of legends in their own right, including Dan Baird (Georgia Satellites), Robert Kearns (Sheryl Crow), Steve Gorman (Black Crowes), Michael Webb (John Fogerty, Poco) and Chark Kinsolving (Mike Farris, Spoonful).

Here are some photos and videos from the show. Be sure to check out Bobby Keys on his website for tour dates at http://bobbykeys.net/ and on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/OfficialBobbyKeys
